The hospitality industry revolves around the guests - people. By responding to their demands and needs, a business can bind customers and generate more revenue. The waiter is the first point of contact in the establishment - if he or she takes on a pro-active and people-oriented attitude, a lot of information about the customer's needs can be yielded.

To promote professionalism in the industry, Ranj has developed a game in which individual employees are made aware of the opportunities and possibilities of sales techniques.

Sales techniques

Ranj has developed the online game ‘Raising the Bar’, in which hospitality workers learn various sales techniques that they can apply in practice. Players are given five regularly occurring dilemmas. By choosing between the proposed reactions, they influence revenue and their tips. What response causes the biggest return? A host provides feedback and advice for the chosen solution.

During the game, employees learn various sales techniques that they can use to pay extra attention to a guest, to respond to demands and needs, and provide the guest with good advice. This can result in improved customer loyalty and increased revenue.
